H-P&D Qualifications
|
Hood-Patterson & Dewar, Inc. (H-P&D) is a consulting firm that specializes in commissioning, testing, project management, engineering, and maintenance of all types of facilities. Incorporated in 1982, H-P&D clients include mission critical facilities, commercial and industrial customers and government institutions, along with electrical utilities, distribution cooperatives, and municipalities. H-P&D is a wholly owned subsidiary of Patterson & Dewar Engineers, an engineering firm that has been in business since 1945. The firm has over 100 employees in offices in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX and has worked on projects throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America.
Hood-Patterson & Dewar brings a unique blend of talent and experience to the industry. Our personnel have backgrounds from utilities, electrical equipment manufacturers, and electrical design firms plus field experience in testing and troubleshooting. Furthermore, many of our people are registered Professional Engineers (PEs). Most consulting and commissioning firms have PEs with little hands-on field experience. Most testing firms have field testing experience but little design engineering experience. Because of our experience in both areas, H-P&D is able to understand the function and operation of each component as well as the overall system design. Because we are not a traditional design firm, our perspective and experience uniquely qualifies us to be truly independent as a commissioning agent, testing firm and consulting firm. We also have personnel with certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and Certified Infrared Thermographers. Other professional affiliations include the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Industry Applications Society (IAS), Power Engineering Society (PES) and the 7 x 24 Exchange. In addition to these professional affiliations, we are an affiliate member of the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA). We maintain all current NETA Acceptance Testing and Maintenance Testing standards, and we are fully versed on NETA testing procedures. H-P&D is not and cannot become a full NETA member firm. Although our company and personnel exceed NETA member technical requirements, H-P&D is a wholly-owned subsidiary and therefore is ineligible for full membership according to NETA bylaws. |
