Hood - Patterson & Dewar, Inc. is a full service electrical and mechanical testing firm with in-house capabilities to perform all electrical testing required of the most comprehensive testing programs. Testing and maintenance service clients include a wide range of owners, engineers, mechanical contractors, electrical contractors as well as along list of communications and electrical utilities. Our testing capabilities include high and low voltage cable testing, ground fault system testing, ground impedance and resistivity testing, insulation power factor testing, transformer testing, protective relay testing, vacuum switches and breakers, molded case and air circuit breaker, UPS system testing, battery/charger testing, insulating materials testing and complete infrared surveys.

We routinely provide maintenance testing and re-commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems for many owners and operators of mission critical facilities, universities, industries and high-rise buildings across the United States. Before performing the tests, we assist our customers in developing and approving detailed MOPs and procedures to safely configure, test, and re-configure their systems. Then we provide complete documentation of the test results and submit recommendations for system improvements, when warranted.
Hood-Patterson & Dewar takes a hands-on approach with each assignment, investigating every functional parameter, delivering a well-defined commissioning plan and managing the on-site process. HPD can leverage knowledge gained through failure-mode analysis and integrated system commissioning to perform diagnostic investigations and resolve problems related to power, grounding and reliability.
